HACK THE CRISIS

For a good cause

The new COVID-19 virus is testing our country, our society and us as citizens. Everything normal about our daily lives has been put on hold. Life, health, and jobs are threatened. In this critical moment, our task is to work together as a nation to solve one of the biggest crises of our lifetime. Hack the Crisis is an online hackathon organized by DIGG, Hack for Sweden, Openhack and The Swedish Government. The mission is to design, test and execute ideas for the future of Sweden and the world.

METHODOLOGY

Design Thinking

All projects always begins with different starting points. This project was focused on a specific task and was heavily timeboxed. Hence, it was important to plan the project from what resources were available. To not grow the scope too large, all layout was on the same page, with call to actions directing the user to different destinations. This also made the job easier for the programmer.

WHAT I LEARNED

Call for action

I learned that it's important to let the user know about the situation and get the right information, so the message gets through in the right way. To include all people it's crucial that the design is simple and easy. It's also important to give the user an opportunity to act, to not leave the user feeling hopeless and unempowered.
