An iOS application designed to make the younger generation in Sweden more aware of the regulations during the coronavirus crisis. The design aimed to increase user awareness of the situation while encouraging them to take action and contribute.
It was important to inform users about the situation and provide accurate information, ensuring the message was conveyed effectively. To be inclusive, the design needed to be simple and accessible. It was equally important to give users an opportunity to act, so they wouldn't feel hopeless or powerless.
Every project begins from a different starting point. This one focused on a specific task and was heavily timeboxed, making it important to plan around the available resources. To keep the scope manageable, all content was placed on a single page, with calls to action directing users to different destinations. This also simplified the work for the developer.
The COVID-19 pandemic tested our country, our society, and us as citizens. Everything normal about daily life was put on hold — health, livelihoods, and jobs were threatened. In that critical moment, the task was to work together as a nation to address one of the biggest crises of our lifetime. Hack the Crisis was an online hackathon organized by DIGG, Hack for Sweden, Openhack, and the Swedish Government, with the mission to design, test, and execute ideas for the future of Sweden and the world.
